Ok here is a little classic I picked up at the Gatton swapmeet in Oct 06.
I have not done anything too it yet except look it over. The wire harness was found to be in poor state and is in rebuild now with new outer tape purchased from Eastwood.com. I'll clean the carbs in the next week and see if I can fire it up. For now you can look through the pics. Its not too bad and will be a
easy restoration, if not for me, at least someone else.
I need one indicator and a glass for the speedo. Everything else seems to be repairable and or restorable. Of course it will need the usual new items such as cables, foot rubbers etc.

Ok last week I got the bike started. My friend Scott finished the harness repair and we fitted it. I had removed, cleaned and reinstalled the carbs .
Found there were no condensers fitted to the alternator but I had a couple of spares here. Fitted them, timed it, cleaned and set the points. Tested for spark at the plugs, all good. The throttle cable is pretty shot so carb tuning is only so so for now till the new cable arrives.
Drained the old oil from the gearbax, it was pretty thin, and replaced with Castrol 4T. Used Castrol 2T in the 2 stroke tank and bled the line from the tank to the oil pump.
I have set up a bodgie fuel tank using a plastic oil tank from a GT250. I let the fuel fill the carb bowls, turned on the ignition, choke full on, gave it one kick and it almost started, gave it another and it roared into life. Not bad for 30 years of nothing before. Let it warm while holding the revs then set the slides as best I could with the current cable.
The 2 stroke oil does not appear to be running from the oil pump to the motor, I'll be looking into that tommorrow. After that it is just a matter of the cosmetics and indicator repair.
