Well I must admit I have been pretty ordinary lately when it comes to fixing up bikes. I mean I have been fixing them but the "really do up" bug has been missing. I think maybe the baby gixer will light the candle again.
This is a 1985 model, the first to hit Australian shores I believe. In Japan they began in 1984 so they were in fact the first of ALL the GSXR's. 59BHP and capable of around 180KPH.
Apart from the obvious RAG paint work the remainder of the bike is is resonable condition, although the harness was a real mess and I have ordered a new one to replace it. Currently no spark so I may have to replace the CDI unit, but I am not rushing into that untill the new harness arrives and I have tested every other possibility first.
I do have all the fairing bits and the top fairing will need some repair. At this time I am not sure which paint scheme I will go with, probably the blue, it will look "nasty" alongside my blue 91 GSXR750:-)
I will update this page as I make progress.
